We, the undersigned Australians, call on the Government to end the unfair practice of bracket creep by indexing income tax thresholds to inflation and flattening the tax system to make it simpler and fairer.
Bracket creep is a stealth tax. It quietly increases the tax burden on Australians without legislation, without scrutiny, and without consent. It penalises hard work, punishes aspiration, and hits lower- and middle-income earners hardest.
We oppose a tax system that allows governments to profit from inflation while ordinary Australians fall further behind.

Tie income tax thresholds to inflation. If the cost of living goes up, your tax rate shouldn’t.
Cut the clutter. Replace the maze of rates with a simpler, fairer system that rewards work, saving, and ambition.
Without indexation, tax cuts vanish quickly. Labor’s latest cuts of about $10 a week for the average earner will be gone in three years because of bracket creep.
Since 2022, singles are paying approximately $3,500 more a year in tax, and couples around $7,000 more.

Everyone earning over $18,201 pays more, but younger and lower-income Australians lose the biggest share. Even a cost-of-living pay rise can push you into a higher bracket and wipe it out.
